Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Plingo handles information across our websites, applications, games, and support services (together, the "Service"). In this Policy, "Plingo", "we", "us", and "our" refer to the provider of the Service.
1. Information we handle
Before the relevant authorization is provided, settings and ordinary learning progress are kept primarily on the device. We still process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the Service, such as network requests, IP address, browser or device type, and short-lived security logs. This includes privacy-scrubbed reliability diagnostics — such as error classes, event counts, durations, and app version — used solely to keep the Service working and safe.
When cloud features are enabled or authorized, we may process:
- Random or pseudonymous device, installation, account, and session identifiers
- App, browser, device, language, and approximate region information
- Learning activity, including games played, inputs, attempts, responses, progress, scores, and results
- Usage, experiment, performance, crash, and diagnostic events
- Text, feedback, and other content submitted to or generated through the Service, such as answers entered in a game or a message you send us
The Plingo app does not record audio. It does not request microphone permission and cannot capture, transmit, or store voice recordings, audio, or transcripts.
If you contact us, we also receive the contact details, organization, country, and message you choose to provide. Purchases made through an app store are handled by that store; Plingo does not receive full payment-card details.
2. Authorization and younger users
The Plingo app is made for children aged 4 to 12. Other parts of our website — such as our partnership and business pages, and our contact form — are intended for adults. Depending on the user, feature, school arrangement, and applicable law, authorization may be provided by a parent or guardian, a school, or another authorized person. Some cloud, synchronization, personalization, support, or reporting functionality may be unavailable or work in a limited or degraded way until the relevant authorization is received.
A school or other organization may authorize and manage certain features. Requests concerning a school-managed use of Plingo may need to be made through that organization, depending on our agreement with it and applicable law.
3. Children's privacy
Parts of the Service are designed for children, including children under 13. This section applies to children's personal information to the extent that laws such as the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the GDPR, and similar rules apply, and it takes precedence over the rest of this Policy in case of any conflict.
The Service is operated by Mindojo Ltd. Privacy questions and parental requests can be sent to [email protected].
Before the required parental, guardian, or school authorization is provided, we limit what we process from a child's use of the Service to: (a) a random, app-generated installation identifier that is not derived from the device's hardware identifiers; and (b) the limited technical information and privacy-scrubbed reliability diagnostics described in Section 1. We use this information solely to provide, secure, and maintain the Service — the "support for internal operations" that children's privacy laws permit — and not to profile a child, target advertising, or contact a child.
Features that involve additional personal information — such as saving progress in the cloud, personalization based on learning history, or optional analytics — are enabled only after the authorization described in Section 2 is provided. The Plingo Android app as currently published does not offer these features: it does not ask a child to create an account, and learning progress stays on the device. If we add such a feature, we will obtain the required authorization first and update this Policy.
We do not show advertising to children, we do not sell children's personal information, and we do not use children's personal information for targeted or behavioral advertising. We do not make a child's personal information publicly available.
We do not use personal information or content collected from a child without the required authorization to train or improve artificial-intelligence systems.
Parents and guardians (or, where applicable, the authorizing school) may review the information associated with their child, ask us to delete it, and refuse to permit its further collection or use. To do so, email [email protected] or use the account deletion page. We will take reasonable steps to verify that the person making a request is authorized to make it. We will not require a child to provide more information than is reasonably necessary to use the Service.
We keep children's personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected for, and never indefinitely. Our retention practices are described in Section 7.
4. How we use information
We use information to provide and secure the Service; save and synchronize progress; personalize games, content, and difficulty; measure performance; test features; diagnose problems; provide support; comply with law; and develop and improve Plingo.
Except as limited by Section 3 (Children's privacy), we may retain and use submitted or generated content and associated data—including pseudonymous learning interactions, text inputs, and outputs—to train, develop, evaluate, and improve artificial-intelligence and machine-learning systems. Where the law requires consent or another authorization for this use, we rely on the authorization described in Section 2.
Automated systems may recommend activities, content, or difficulty. They are not used to make legal or similarly significant decisions about a user.
5. Speech and AI features
The Plingo app has no speech or voice functionality. It contains no speech recognition, requests no microphone permission, and does not record, transmit, or store audio. Speech technology described elsewhere on our website is offered to business partners and is not part of the children's app. If we add speech features to the app, we will update this Policy and obtain any authorization required before doing so.
Some AI features operate locally on the device. Others may transmit text content for off-device processing. Where separate authorization is required, the Service will limit the feature until that authorization is provided. For children, these features are limited as described in Section 3. Please do not submit information you do not want processed as described in this Policy.
6. Service providers and disclosure
We use categories of service providers to operate parts of the Service, including:
- Cloud hosting, content delivery, data storage, authentication, and synchronization providers
- Security, operational analytics, performance monitoring, and error or crash diagnostic providers
- Customer support and communications providers
- Website form and enquiry-processing providers
- App distribution and purchase-processing providers
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the Service, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable safeguards.
We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or share it for cross-service behavioral advertising.
7. Storage, international processing, and retention
Information may be stored on your device and processed in Israel and other countries where we or our providers operate. Where required, we use contractual and other safeguards for international transfers.
We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, and we maintain a written retention schedule for the categories of information we process. In particular: event-level diagnostic and analytics records are retained for no longer than 13 months, after which they are deleted or reduced to aggregate statistics; learning progress is kept while a profile remains in use and is deleted or de-identified on verified request; and support messages are kept as long as needed to resolve and document the enquiry. We then delete or de-identify information, unless longer retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute, or backup purposes. Children's personal information is never retained indefinitely.
8. Your choices and rights
You may ask to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information associated with you. You may also withdraw authorization or consent and ask us to restrict or stop certain processing. These rights may be subject to applicable law and technical limitations.
Because many Plingo profiles are pseudonymous, we may need the device, installation, account, or school identifier associated with the Service to locate the information. We may also need to verify that the person making a request is authorized to do so.
To make a request, email [email protected] or use the account deletion page. You may also complain to your local privacy or data-protection authority.
9. Cookies and on-device storage
We use on-device storage, service workers, and similar technology for essential operation, settings, offline access, consent choices, security, and learning progress. Authorized analytics or support tools may use similar technology for the purposes described above. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site advertising trackers.
10. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted transmission and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy as the Service changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice where required.
